The 25 Greatest Action Movie Trailers

As a massive fan of action movies, both classic and modern, I must admit the decline in decent theatrical trailers over the last few years makes me a little sad. As a kid, nothing excited me more than a trailer for an action movie, I’d see a trailer, beg my parents to play it 50 more times, then eventually I would get to see the movie itself, which obviously I loved. But my interest always began with that first trailer, the most important piece of commercial publicity, hence the term “Teaser trailers”, teasing me into submission. Lately, good action movie trailers are hard to find, although the actual movies may turn out to be fantastic, but there have been some that still have that old classic magic, a nice bit of cheesy voice-over, epic music, rapid-fire editing and an urge to big up the stars and producers/directors. Although this list is mostly made up of my favourite action movies from the 1990s, a few more recent spectacular ones make it in, rounding up around 23 years of thrilling trailers from the movies that ruled my boyhood and teenage years, right up to my now “I may be older, but i’m still a big kid!” years. Anyway, here’s what I consider to be the 25 greatest action movie trailers ever made… I’ll bet if you haven’t seen some of these movies, you’ll want to after these…
